About the Artist:

I was born in Tacoma Washington April 5th 1994. From a very young age I was destined to be an artist. At 10 months old I was already sitting on large sheets of paper and drawing circles. Apparently I had to draw with a "black marker" otherwise I would throw a fit my mom tells me. Already I discovered simple techniques like circles and I drew little characters with knee caps and elbows. My family called these characters "chicken nugget people" because they basically looked like that. Although, at 10 months of age my parents knew they would be investing in a lot of art supplies.

My family traveled across the United States due to my father's military career. In the back of the car I would draw all the animals I would see along the way. I still remember drawing bison, antelope, deer on notebook paper. Of course those were the days before tablets/ IPADS so my parents invested in a lot of Magna Doodles since I wore them out!

At age 6, I was very focused on drawing realistic but my skill was not yet developed so often I would get frustrated. In the first grade, my teacher was teaching one day and she was using a drawing for a demonstration. We were learning about book genres this week. I was quite the art critic already because I came home later that day and told my mom about how my teacher's cute cartoon drawing of a lion did not meet my expectations. "She doesn't understand mommy! I want to draw non-fiction!" My mom of course knew I meant I wanted to draw more "realistic".

By the fifth grade, I eventually moved up to "real" sketchbooks. I started designing my own characters and also writing my own stories. Mostly I got my inspiration from my favorite movies "Spy Kids" and books "Harry Potter". As children we have a huge imagination. I often look through my old stuff and laugh at some of the stories I wrote. In elementary school, I had a great art teacher who gave me great inspiration. I won and participated in a lot of local art contests in my community.

Middle school, it really gave me a break from art. I was participating in sports and clubs. I still would draw every once and a while. At the time the art teacher there just was not too kind either which unfortunately kind of made art feel more like a chore rather than an enjoyable activity. I also had experienced some "mean girl" drama which led to me being very "Anti-bullying" today. Middle school I think everyone is just awkward in general for anyone to experience.

In high school, I started developing my portrait skills. I loved all of my art teachers there. They both taught art so differently which made it challenging so I can improve as an artist. By senior year, I focused on my portfolio which consisted of portraits, anatomy studies, and character development. We had an art show at the end of the year where the whole school could see your artwork. I still remember my fellow classmates that did not understand the purpose of anatomy studies pointing at my work saying "He has a nice butt!" It was pretty funny to see their reactions.

So soon after that, literally two weeks after high school graduation I enrolled in Full Sail University for the computer animation program. It was a great challenge for me and helped me learn what areas in art I wanted to focus on as a career. I met amazing people who worked on disney movies such as "Pocahontas", "Lilo and Stitch", "The Lion King", "Prince of Egypt", and many more. I also grew more in my faith and outside of school I went to church. I graduated May 9th 2014.

My future plans are to sell my artwork and prints. I also want to continue to create artwork that inspires people. I am currently designing a coloring book and print designs. Eventually I also want to publish some books and graphic novels. I am a christian and I speak for body positivity, protecting the earth, anti-bullying, female power.
